How to Choose Your First Good Watch

A good watch can last a lifetime. Three questions make the choice much easier.
Three questions
- What size suits your wrist? Most wrists suit a case between 36 and 40 mm. Lay the watch flat: the lugs should not pass the edge of your wrist.
- Quartz or automatic? Quartz is accurate and easy. An automatic winds itself as you move and is a small machine you can keep for decades.
- Bracelet or strap? Steel goes everywhere and lasts. Leather is lighter and dressier, and easy to change.
Choose the one you will want to wear every day: that is the right first watch.
